Targeting a younger audience

My aim is to target a younger audience, to help spread awareness to future generations to make them open their eyes as what happens around the world.

I plan to do this by using fads/trends that are popular amongst my target audience. A fad/trend would mean that I could create some hype and in turn interest on the subject that other people would want to join in on so that they can feel apart of something.

Some current trend that my target audience uses are:
1. Social network
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Blogs
  • Youtube
  • Skype
2. Apps
  • Snap chat
  • Instagram
  • Pinerest
  • Whatsap
  • Angry birds
3. Electronics cover
  • Mobile phones
  • Tablets
  • Mp3s
  • Laptops
  • E-reader
4. Fashion
  • Shoes
  • Leggings
  • Hats
  • Rucksacks
  • Canvas bags
  • Hoodies/Jumpers
  • T-shirts
  • Wrist wear.
5. Other
  • Stationary
  • Stickers
  • Posters
  • Room decoration
  • Hand made
  • Local made

BBC ask David Attenborough

Looking at the Africa web page on the BBC website I found that there was a Q&A with Sir David Attenborough, called Ask Attenbrough, where fans would tweet to @BBCOne and hash tag #AskAttenborough asking there questions and Sir David Attenborough would respond.

I found this tweet, that just backs up my belief that it is so important to spread awareness to future generations:

Mayuka Thais @mayukathais tweeted:
@BBCNature How would you educate children to save wildlife? What can they do? My students ask me this ALL the time. #AskAttenborough @bbcone

.

BBC Nature@BBCNature tweeted:
@mayukathais @BBCOne #AskAttenborough Being aware of what is happening in nature around the world... beyond your own home.

This just shows that programs like the Africa series are vital to help educate the future generations so they are not naive to what is happening in the world around them.

David Attenborough's Africa Inspiration

I was inspired to start this project because I watched the David Attenborough series on Africa and thought that because it was quite an eye opening experience, because it touch on all important issues, like poaching, climate change, human habitat encroaching on animal habitat, deforestation and what people are doing to help save Africa.
